Our Story
Why BAAT?
BALOCHISTAN ACTION FOR ADVOCACY AND TRANSFORMATION (BAAT) was born out of a deep desire to address the injustices faced by marginalized communities in Balochistan—especially its children.
The idea for BAAT took root when our founder, Saif Ur Rehman, witnessed firsthand the devastating impact of child labor, gender inequality, and climate vulnerability in his own hometown of Kuchlak. Children who should have been in school were working in fields, workshops, and streets. Girls were denied education and opportunities. And the region’s natural beauty was slowly being lost to environmental neglect.
Realizing that these issues were not isolated—but deeply connected—Saif decided to take action. With the support of like-minded youth and community members, he launched BAAT as a platform for advocacy, education, and transformation.
We named our organization “BAAT”, which in Urdu means “conversation” or “dialogue”—because change begins with raising voices. At BAAT, we believe that open dialogue, informed advocacy, and grassroots action can lead to powerful transformation.
Through our flagship initiative Eduway, we’re providing digital education to children involved in labor. We’re fighting inequality through gender-focused campaigns, and we’re tackling climate change with youth-led sustainability projects. BAAT is not just an organization—it’s a movement for justice, dignity, and opportunity in Balochistan.
